Trad Truths

"You should feel that, under the right conditions, all women would be available. Maybe it would cost a lot of money, maybe it's a matter of timing. Who knows. Helmut Newton

I wasn't a fan of Helmut's photography but the man was a poet. Anyway, check out Harvey Weinstein's wife this month in Town & Country. She's moved up the designer ladder in no time --but not without huge sacrifice.

I'd rather cut off my arm than go to bed with that feces pile

Somehow I doubt she goes to bed with him all that often.

There was a great quote in a French movie once - something to the effect that "women are up for grabs and they want to be chosen."

There was another great line in a movie - "no matter how beautiful a woman is there is always some guy out there who is tired of fu**ing her.

Two great, true lines.

I always thought you were a fan of Der Helmut. Maybe it was admiration. That counts.

Having to sleep with Harvey Weinstein is indeed a steep price to pay.

Interesting post. The phenomenon of beautiful females consorting with vulgar, ugly--yet RICH--men, especially if they are a member of a dominant foreign tribe, is not at all flattering to women. And I mean that. In a more honest age such females would be deemed cheap whores; and in centuries past, they have been. But today, we make jokes.

Hit the reject button on the Comments by mistake. Here's a comment from ADG.

"Trad....forgive me in advance and indeed, dump this comment if neccesary. I'm not a Newton fan per se but his autobiography was really interesting...Berlin pre-WWII.

Harvey and his brother have done some remarkable things in the movie biz. However, his stunning bride just reinforces what Willie Nelson declared years ago...money makes women h_rney.

Oy. Sorry."

Roehm & Kravis, Duff & Perelman... whatever. A few year together and then they part, he for a new model and she plus loads more cash than she started with and a shingled house in the Hamptons.

Huge sacrifice? Isn't that a matter of opinion?
